Position Details

Ramp specific Training:

• They have 2 days in the classroom in Palmetto for Intermodal specific training and Smith System Certification. They will also go out for 3 days OJT with a certified trainer. They will return to the terminal at the end of their shift. They will be afforded a hotel during this training period If eligible (must live more than 40 miles away). Training lasts about 5 days and is payable at $20 an hour - drivers should know that extra training days can be added at the trainer's discretion. ALL drivers will be assigned a truck once training is completed. They will then have the option to get routed thru the house to load up the truck.

DRIVERS WILL BE WORKING EVERY OTHER SATURDAY WITH 34 HOUR RESET

Position details:

• No touch freight
• Hauling containers in and out of the Atlanta rail yards to customers within an 300 mile radius of Atlanta running in GA, SC, TN, AL, but also dip a little into MS, NC, and FL
• 70% of the freight is drop and hook.
• 30% will be live unload and / or live load.
• All no touch freight for the driver

Special requirements:

• HAZMAT requested by 180 days of hire, but not necessary. Drivers that pull hazmat loads have opportunity for higher W2.

Additional information:

• Riders are not permitted
• CAN take the truck home for time off.
• If drivers want to leave the truck at the yard for time off and not take it home, Trucks are parked @ 8105 Williams Rd Palmetto GA 30268 for time off.
• They cannot leave the truck at the Lithia Springs facility due to lack of space.
• Regional Intermodal drivers will receive 6 paid holidays for those who have completed one consecutive year of employment.
