Position Title: Director of Service Operations
Reports To: Vice President of Service
Location: Salt Lake City, UT Covers Multiple States (10 Locations)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Service Operations to lead and optimize service performance across a network of 10 truck dealership locations in multiple states. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, technician performance, and strategic alignment across all service departments. This position has direct oversight of 10 Service Managers and the entire technician workforce across these locations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, develop, and support 10 Service Managers across multiple dealership locations to ensure consistent execution of service standards, KPIs, and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide operational leadership across all service departments, focusing on technician productivity, customer satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability.
- Partner with Regional Parts Directors to ensure seamless coordination between parts and service functions.
- Drive consistency in labor pricing, warranty recovery, technician recruitment and retention, and employee development programs.
- Monitor and report on service department performance metrics across all stores, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Implement and maintain SOPs, training, and compliance standards across all service operations.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align service performance with overall business strategy and revenue targets.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow, reduce inefficiencies, and elevate customer experience.
Qualifications:- 7+ years of service management experience in a multi-location truck, heavy equipment, or automotive dealership environment.
- Proven success leading managers and large technician teams across dispersed locations.
- Strong understanding of service department financials, KPIs, and operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly to dealership locations.
- CDL and technical background a plus, but not required.
