Olive Recruiting is seeking a Regional Sales Director for our client in Houston, Texas. This role is responsible for driving business development efforts throughout the Houston market, expanding existing customer relationships, generating new revenue opportunities, and supporting the growth of a regional sales team. The Regional Sales Director will work closely with operations and leadership to deliver customized freight forwarding and logistics solutions while building long-term customer partnerships.

Schedule: In-office / Field-Based Sales Role
Compensation: Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission, car allowance, benefits package, PTO, holidays, and retirement plan participation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow business within the Houston market by securing new customers and expanding existing accounts.
  • Sell a full suite of logistics and freight forwarding services, including air freight, ocean freight, import/export, domestic transportation, warehousing, customs brokerage coordination, and project cargo solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, energy companies, industrial clients, and project cargo customers.
  • Prepare proposals, RFQs, pricing recommendations, and customized logistics solutions in partnership with operations and pricing teams.
  • Manage sales pipeline activity, forecasting, CRM updates, account planning, and performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to ensure successful customer onboarding and service execution.
  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, networking events, and industry functions throughout the region.
  • Recruit, mentor, and support sales representatives as the Houston market continues to grow.
  • Meet or exceed revenue, gross profit, customer retention, and activity goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful B2B sales or business development experience within freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or 3PL services.
  • Proven track record selling international freight forwarding solutions, including air freight, ocean freight, and import/export services.
  • Active book of business within the Houston freight forwarding and logistics market strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Houston logistics landscape, including port, airport, energy, industrial, manufacturing, and distribution sectors.
  • Ability to develop consultative logistics solutions and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to evaluate pricing, margins, and business opportunities.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally for customer meetings and business development activities.
