The Mission

As the Regional Sales Director for Homebase North, you will lead Downeasts sales team across Maine, New Hampshire, and [Vermont]. Your mission is to hit revenue, volume, and distribution goals across the region. Youll do it by hiring, training, and motivating a team of Senior Territory Managers, and by building and leveraging relationships with our five wholesaler partners.

This is home turf. Downeast was born in Maine, and its among the most established regions we have. That also means the job isnt maintenance. Part of it is turning around off-premise performance in parts of the region while protecting the on-premise growth thats already working.

What a Week Looks Like

At least three days a week, youre in the trade with your Senior Territory Managers, on and off premise, coaching in real accounts rather than from a conference room. The rest of the week goes to running the region: meeting with wholesaler partners, reading sales and distribution data to decide where the teams effort goes next, planning launches, and holding your team accountable to their goals. You own the regions results, which means the wins are yours, and so is the accountability.

What Youll Do

Build a Strong Team: Build and manage a sales team of A-players. Identify top talent and fill open positions with a sense of urgency. Train every rep on our sales process and best practices. Understand each team members strengths and weaknesses, and deliver feedback effectively.

Keep the Hustle High: Keep team motivation high by building a positive, performance-based environment. Set clear goals and expectations, and hold the team to them.

Grow Revenue: Achieve CE, distribution, and team goals across all three states. Lead new product launches through the wholesaler network, with committed placement targets and speed-to-market goals. Partner with National Accounts to build local execution plans for chain business.

Own the Wholesaler Relationships: Serve as Downeasts point person for five wholesaler partners. Build trust and favorability across the network, run regular business meetings, and leverage those relationships to hit regional sales goals.

Genuinely excited to represent the Downeast brand.

About Downeast Cider

We first started fermenting batches of cider up at Bates College in 2011. We have a few more teammates now. You can now buy our cider in tens of thousands of retailers, not just a couple of bars in central Maine. It takes us 15 minutes to make a pallet of cider, not the 12 hours it took in the early days. Were diversifying beyond cider, but our aim remains the same:

We aspire to be an enduring company. If we create value for our customers, we create value for ourselves through fulfilling work and robust compensation. To do this requires a world-class brand, and a world-class team.

We define our culture by seven principles. You can read more about those principles on our website.

Unfiltered Hiring

We like to hire the way we like our cider: unfiltered. With the understanding that we can learn and grow from each others differences, we are proud to hire regardless of gender, race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, disability, age, or anything else that makes us who we are.
