Job Summary:Looking to hire a Regional Operations Manager to manage day-to-day operations and provide administrative oversight across a set of 3 RNG plants within Wisconsin in the Green Bay area and 1 plant in Plains, Kansas. The Manager will report to the Director of Operations and work in collaboration with all of the company’s Operations and Operations Support team. The successful candidate will also have a significant role in operator development, P&L management, data analysis, continuous improvement, troubleshooting support, and technology and economic evaluations.
Qualification:- Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible industrial experience, including at least five (5) years of plant management and other industrial supervisory roles
- Willingness to relocate to Wisconsin, if not already living in the region
- Expertise in SCADA and control system operations and management
- Expertise in the use of CMMS systems, ideally MaintainX
- Expertise in the use of the MS Office suite, including Outlook, MS Excel and MS Project
- Willingness to travel as needed to sites within the Manager’s set of responsible sites as well as occasionally to other regions. Total travel is expected to be 1-2 weeks per month
Additional Desired Experience and Qualifications:- Direct experience in RNG plant management (Open to Wastewater Plant experience or Industrial Plant experience)
- Electrical and instrumentation/controls experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or electrical
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
Responsibilities: - Manage the safety, compliance, operations, maintenance, and operating costs of certain sites that are designated as being in the Manager’s set of responsible sites
- Supervise and manage the activities, performance, development and conduct of the employees at each site in a style of coaching and empowerment
- Actively support operators by resolving daily bottlenecks, providing necessary tools and resources, and removing administrative friction so the team can focus on safe efficient plant operations
- Cultivate a transparent safety and regulatory compliance culture
- Analyze operating performance of each RNG facility, lead root cause analysis and process improvements by actively listening to operators’ insights, valuing field experience alongside engineering data
- Help develop and conduct analyses of alternative approaches to maximize RNG production and reduce operating costs
- Lead the analysis of maintenance work to optimize quality and cost, including which tasks to complete in-house vs. outsourcing to contractors
- Lead the evaluation, selection and development of scopes of work for maintenance contractors for complex activities such as digester cleanouts and scrubbing media changeouts
- Develop and review standard operating procedures with the operators to ensure consistency in work execution
- Interface with utility, farm and vendor partners to support plant performance
- Ensure compliance with site PSM requirements, including participation in Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs), documentation reviews, and site mechanical integrity programs
- Support procurement activities for sites in the region and continue to develop regional procurement strategy with lead operators
- Manage spend within annual budget. Support creation of annual budgets by forecasting maintenance and operations spending
