PBS Facility Service

DMV Market (Silver Spring, MD & Surrounding Region) 

Overview

PBS Facility Service is looking for an experienced, hands-on Regional Operations Manager to run multi-site operations across our DMV portfolio. This is a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for the day-to-day performance of assigned residential and commercial properties, covering concierge and front desk teams, porter and janitorial staff, security personnel, and building engineers. 

We need someone who gets into the field, holds people accountable, and builds trust with clients through consistent follow-through. If you have managed complex, multi-site operations and know how to keep things running well, we want to talk. 

What You Will Do

Operations & Quality

·         Manage daily operations across multiple residential and commercial properties, holding concierge, doorman, porter, cleaner, and support staff to PBS standards for professionalism, presentation, and service delivery.

·         Walk properties regularly and run service audits to check cleanliness, safety, staffing coverage, and overall performance.

·         Spot operational problems early and put corrective plans in place quickly.

·         Review incident reports, daily logs, shift summaries, and operational documentation for accuracy and completeness.

 Staff Leadership & Workforce Management

·         Directly supervise site supervisors and field employees across multiple locations, reinforcing a culture of accountability, urgency, and professionalism.

·         Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure consistent site coverage while controlling overtime exposure.

·         Monitor attendance, lateness, and call-outs. Supervisors are expected to stay ahead of staffing gaps before they affect operations.

·         Lead interviewing, onboarding, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.

 

Client Relations

·         Build working relationships with property managers, ownership groups, supers, and residents based on reliability and follow-through.

·         Check in with clients regularly to stay on top of satisfaction levels and catch issues before they escalate.

·         Handle sensitive operational, staffing, or resident issues directly when site supervisors need backup.

·         Return client calls and requests the same day, with a clear answer or a timeline.

Security & Engineering Oversight

·         Oversee security operations across all assigned sites, ensuring guard teams adhere to post orders, access control procedures, and PBS conduct and appearance standards.

·         Create process to monitor guard scheduling, coverage gaps, incident reporting, and escalation protocols.

·         Coordinate with building engineers to support preventive maintenance schedules, equipment reliability, and timely resolution of building system issues.

·         Act as the point of coordination between security personnel, engineering staff, property management, and PBS leadership, making sure all teams are aligned with site requirements and client expectations.

 

Compliance, Reporting & Supply Oversight

·         Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, labor requirements, and operational standards across all sites.

·         Maintain organized documentation for staffing, disciplinary actions, site inspections, and incidents.

·         Provide regular operational updates and reports to senior leadership.

·         Oversee cleaning supplies, uniforms, and equipment inventory across assigned locations, coordinating deliveries and keeping sites operationally stocked. 

Field & Emergency Response

·         Respond to emergencies, staffing shortages, and urgent client escalations as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What It Takes to Be Successful

·         Background in multi-site operations within facility services, residential property management, building services, or a related field.

·         Experience managing security teams or working alongside building engineering staff is a strong plus.

·         Able to lead a team firmly without losing people. Accountability and morale are not mutually exclusive.

·         Clear communicator in writing and in person. Comfortable giving direct feedback and escalating issues when needed.

·         Familiar with scheduling software, HR platforms, and reporting tools.

·         Bilingual English & Spanish preferred.

·         Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required.

·         Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and respond to field emergencies when necessary.
