Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the management, oversight, adherence to federal and state correctional health care standards and institutional regulations and guidelines in the provision of medical care for the facilities within the designated region
  • Follow established policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards
  • Communicate performance and service standards and expectations to Medical Directors within the designated region
  • Implement policy and protocol defined by Chief Medical Officer
  • Meet with Chief Medical Officer about quality of care, policy, procedure, and records issues and develops best practice medical, clinical support staff, and process management protocols
  • Participate in setting staffing levels in region and assures appropriate training for scope of service provided
  • Provide Medical Directors with guidance in the supervision of the facility medical staff, including Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners
Qualifications:
  • Current state license as a MD/DO
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred
  • Current DEA license
  • Current CPR certificate
  • Prior clinical leadership experience in correctional healthcare setting preferred
  • Proficient with electronic medical records
  • Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
