To plan, organize and control operational activities to ensure a high standard of service, quality, growth and increased profitability
Responsible for a staff of 8 to 15 direct reports and 100 to 400 indirect reports. Develops, establishes and coordinates regional and branch objectives and priorities of tactical plans in alignment with national and divisional goals. Provides assistance in identifying and supporting specific sales opportunities and participates in the development of new or modified service offerings. Assists sales and account management teams through customer site visits to secure/retain accounts. Attains operational efficiency and reduction of unnecessary costs by effectively analyzing, reviewing and directing the activities of personnel in the areas of operations. Ensures that the region meets its productivity goals, KPI’s and budget requirements. Ensures that long and short range planning is accomplished for each operational branch, including succession planning, contingency planning, property and lease planning.
Audit and analyze financial reporting to identify areas for improvement and ensure a high degree of fiscal discipline with the region and branches. Ensures the continuous development of operations and leadership talent to fill positions to meet company growth expectations. Ensures that the affirmative action program is implemented and that goals are met. The role will report to the Vice President, US Air & Ocean. Performs other duties as assigned.
This role requires a strong operational background in the field of international freight forwarding and logistics. This position requires familiarity with company features of service offerings, systems, policies, and procedures. Strong management, human relations, and communications skills. Safety sensitive. Minimum 4 year college degree preferred/equivalent in business and/or minimum 10 years business leadership experience in international logistics. The incumbent in this position will reside within the region they will be leading.
Preferred Qualifications: 4-year college degree and 10-years business leadership experience in international logistics and international freight forwarding.Familiar with company features of service offerings, systems, policies, and procedures.
Pay Transparency:
Pay: $16,000- $19,500
Additional Details: Day shift position, with about 25% travel. Must be located near one of the listed locations.
