This leadership role oversees critical infrastructure operations supporting tens of thousands of customers and plays a key part in maintaining reliable service across the region.
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee regional line functions, including construction, maintenance, and service restoration. This individual will lead both strategy and execution, ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and high-quality service delivery. The role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage teams, budgets, and rapidly changing priorities in a field-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee regional line operations, including system construction, maintenance, and outage response
Lead and manage field teams, warehouse staff, and supervisors to ensure efficient daily operations
Plan, prioritize, and coordinate work activities to maintain system reliability and performance
Ensure all work aligns with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal policies
Partner with leadership to develop and execute operational goals and initiatives
Monitor and manage departmental budgets, expenses, and resource allocation
Drive safety initiatives and reinforce a strong culture of compliance and accountability
Coordinate training programs and support employee development and performance management
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to support service and project needs
Respond to service disruptions and provide leadership during emergency restoration efforts
Maintain strong relationships with customers and address service-related concerns professionally
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience OR 15+ years of field operations experience in lieu of a degree
Strong background in utility construction, maintenance, and service restoration
Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., NESC, RUS guidelines)
Proven leadership experience managing teams in a field-based environment
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations
Valid driver’s license required, driving is an essential requirement for this position.
