What we’re looking for:
The Regional Inspection Manager leads the region’s mechanical integrity of fixed equipment, piping, and structures in the facilities by working with site inspectors and engineers to evaluate asset inspection results in accordance with industry and corporate standards. Technical resource for all aspects related to fixed equipment mechanical integrity and reliability.
What will be expected from you?
- Support and implement fixed equipment mechanical integrity initiatives. Monitor mechanical integrity of fixed equipment to drive improvements and corrective actions.
- Develop risk-based strategies and inspection plans for fixed equipment using RBI methodology.
- Manages the region’s inspection contractor.
- Support Capital Projects and Maintenance on fixed equipment design, construction, and replacement.
- Provide advice, counsel, and technical support for fixed equipment mechanical integrity issues.
- Participate with corporate mechanical integrity steering teams to establish initiatives.
- Provide site representation on corporate and industry committees involving fixed equipment as needed.
- Provide appropriate level of technical review of inspection reports, corrective actions, and repair plans.
- Perform calculations to determine remaining life of fixed equipment.
- Experience reviewing Inspection work plans for specialized testing i.e. pneumatic, acoustic emissions, etc.
- Evaluate inspection deferral requests.
- Technical resource for welding procedures, material selection, and failure mechanisms on fixed equipment (i.e. brittle fracture, Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC), Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI), etc)
- Technical Resource for various NDE methods i.e. radiography, eddy current, phased array.
- Provide technical consultation in accordance with API and ASME Cordes.
- Perform vessel and piping evaluations using Computer Aided Pressure Vessel Design program (COMPRESS), and the interactive pipe stress analysis program (CAESAR II).
- Perform or facilitate API 579 fitness-for-service assessments of fixed equipment and lead metallurgical failure analyses.
- May be required to work off shifts during turnarounds and other unit outages
- Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).
- Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
- Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.
What are we looking for in the ideal Candidate?
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering and minimum of 10 years relevant fixed equipment inspection, reliability, or maintenance engineering in a petrochemical or refining facility
- Minimum of 20 years relevant fixed equipment inspection experience in petrochemical or refining facility with at least ten years holding one or more API certifications
- API 510, 570, 653, Certified Weld Inspector (CWI), National Association of Corrosion Engineers or provide evidence of training seminars and courses attended which provided instruction in inspection codes or new construction standards and an interest in attaining certifications.
- Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of ASINT software a plus
