Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Regional Field Service Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical expert responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing printing hardware across a network of healthcare facilities throughout your assigned region.

This position plays a vital role in supporting patient care by ensuring mission-critical printing equipment—including patient wristband, prescription, medical records, and label printers—remains operational with minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of printing equipment, including laser, thermal, barcode, Zebra, and multifunction printers.
  • Install standalone and network-connected printing devices at customer locations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and extend product life.
  • Respond to on-site service requests and provide remote technical support when appropriate.
  • Manage a daily schedule of service calls throughout the assigned territory, ensuring timely arrival and resolution.
  • Complete accurate field service reports, documenting repairs, labor, parts used, and customer interactions.
  • Maintain service parts inventory and ensure inventory records remain accurate.
  • Process and manage Return Material Authorizations (RMAs), ensuring timely completion throughout the equipment lifecycle.
  • Coordinate shipment, transfer, and receipt of equipment following established procedures.
  • Utilize service manuals, schematics, technical documentation, and diagnostic tools to determine repair procedures.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians, engineers, vendors, and internal support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding product performance, customer satisfaction, and opportunities for service improvements.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates while delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of service time, equipment history, and repair activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of field service experience repairing mechanical and electronic hardware.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a high volume of service calls while maintaining organization and efficiency.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in service documentation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing priorities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle with the ability to travel daily throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience servicing Zebra thermal printers used for patient wristbands, specimen labeling, and healthcare applications.
  • Previous experience supporting hospitals, healthcare systems, laboratories, or other clinical environments.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements and healthcare facility protocols.
  • Experience supporting network-connected printers and enterprise print environments.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including printers, paper trays, equipment, and toolkits.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs or ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to travel up to 90% throughout the assigned region.
  • Ability to safely transport tools, equipment, and replacement parts between customer locations.
