Regional Director of Surveying

Danbury, CT | Hybrid (4 Days In Office) | $160,000+ Base + Bonus

We're conducting a confidential search for a Regional Director of Surveying to lead a well-established land surveying operation serving residential and mixed-use land development projects throughout Connecticut and New York.

This is a unique succession-planning opportunity. The incoming leader will work alongside the current Regional Director before his retirement, allowing for a smooth transition, knowledge transfer, and long-term success.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of surveyors, field crews, and CAD professionals.
  • Oversee survey operations, project execution, quality control, and staff development.
  • Manage client relationships and support business development efforts.
  • Review, sign, and seal survey documents, plats, and legal descriptions.
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, staffing plans, and project forecasts.
  • Drive operational efficiency while maintaining exceptional client service.

What We're Looking For

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required (Connecticut and/or New York preferred; reciprocity assistance available).
  • Leadership experience managing survey staff and projects.
  • Strong background in land development surveying.
  • Experience with boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and residential development surveys.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and modern survey technology.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Rare succession opportunity with direct overlap alongside the retiring Regional Director.
  • Lead an established team with an existing client base and steady project backlog.
  • Report directly to executive leadership with significant visibility and influence.
  • Competitive compensation with base salary targeted up to $160,000+, annual bonus potential, and flexibility for exceptional candidates.
  • Excellent long-term career growth with one of the nation's most respected organizations.

If you're an experienced PLS looking to step into a high-impact leadership role, or an established Survey Director ready for your next challenge - we'd love to start a conversation.
