As Vista continues to expand its presence throughout the Southeast, we are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Regional Director of Operations – Southeast to join our growing Regional Leadership Team. This is a growth-oriented regional leadership position designed to support Vista’s continued expansion across the Southeast. The successful candidate will work alongside our existing regional operators and corporate leadership team, with responsibility for overseeing assigned communities, supporting new acquisitions and transitions, developing local leadership, and establishing strong operational infrastructure as our Southeast portfolio grows.

The ideal candidate will bring significant senior living or post-acute operating experience, including prior multi-site/regional leadership and facility-level executive experience. Candidates with a strong background in sales, census development, turnarounds, acquisitions/transitions, or clinical operations are particularly attractive. The Regional Director will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will play an important role in shaping Vista’s expanding Southeast platform.


Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and oversight to assigned senior living communities throughout the Southeast.
  • Support and mentor Executive Directors and community leadership teams across all departments.
  • Participate in the operational onboarding, transition, and stabilization of newly acquired or newly managed communities.
  • Establish strong systems, accountability, and operating standards as the regional portfolio expands.
  • Partner with existing Regional Directors and corporate leadership to ensure consistency across the Vista platform.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve occupancy, revenue, resident satisfaction, employee engagement, and overall community performance.
  • Review financial performance, including PL statements, labor, operating expenses, census, revenue, and key performance indicators.
  • Identify underperforming areas and develop actionable improvement plans with community leadership.
  • Assist with annual operating plans, budgets, capital planning, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations, licensing requirements, company standards, and policies.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain strong Executive Directors and department leaders.
  • Maintain a consistent presence in assigned communities and provide hands-on leadership when operational support is needed.
  • Represent Vista professionally with residents, families, referral partners, regulators, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Support business development and growth initiatives throughout the Southeast.

Leadership Operational Excellence

The Regional Director will be expected to operate as both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator. This individual should be comfortable walking into a community, quickly assessing its operations, identifying opportunities, developing leadership, and establishing a clear path toward improved performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of successful Executive Director, Administrator, or comparable senior operational leadership experience within Assisted Living, Memory Care, Independent Living, Skilled Nursing, or a related senior care environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of multi-site, divisional, or regional leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and improve the performance of multiple communities.
  • Strong understanding of senior living operations, financial management, labor management, regulatory compliance, and resident services.
  • Experience with new acquisitions, community transitions, turnarounds, or rapid portfolio growth is highly valued.
  • Strong sales, marketing, and census-development experience is highly valued.
  • Nursing or clinical experience is considered a plus.
  • LNHA or other applicable healthcare/senior living licensure is preferred but not required for all candidates.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Southeast based upon the needs and growth of the portfolio.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a growing and evolving organization.
