Regional Director of Business Development

Job Summary

THRYVE Healthcare is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Business Development to drive census growth, expand referral networks, and strengthen business relationships across multiple skilled nursing facilities. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing regional growth strategies, building partnerships with hospitals and healthcare providers, and supporting facility admissions and marketing teams to increase referrals and occupancy.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with a strong background in healthcare business development, referral relationship management, and skilled nursing or post-acute care.

Duties Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional business development strategies to increase referrals, admissions, census, and facility occupancy.
• Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, hospital case managers, discharge planners, physicians, managed care organizations, and other referral sources.
• Identify new business opportunities, referral networks, and strategic partnerships across the assigned region.
• Conduct regular visits to referral sources and healthcare organizations to strengthen relationships and generate new business.
• Work closely with facility Administrators, Directors of Admissions, and marketing teams to develop and execute facility-specific growth plans.
• Monitor referral activity, admission conversion rates, census trends, and business development performance across assigned facilities.
• Analyze market conditions, competitor activity, and referral patterns to identify opportunities for growth.
• Develop strategies to improve referral conversion, increase market share, and strengthen the organization's competitive position.
• Support facility teams in addressing referral concerns, improving response times, and maintaining strong communication with referral partners.
• Establish regional business development goals and track progress against performance metrics.
• Prepare reports on referral activity, market trends, business development initiatives, and results for executive leadership.
• Represent THRYVE Healthcare at networking events, healthcare meetings, and industry functions.
• Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to ensure facilities effectively communicate their services, capabilities, and clinical strengths to referral partners.
• Support the development of marketing materials, outreach initiatives, and business development campaigns.
• Travel throughout the assigned region to visit facilities and meet with referral partners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare business development, healthcare sales, or referral relationship management required.
• Skilled nursing, long-term care, post-acute care, or rehabilitation experience strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of generating referrals, developing new business relationships, and driving census or revenue growth.
• Established relationships with hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, and other healthcare referral sources preferred.
• Strong understanding of admissions processes, referral development, and post-acute care transitions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to monitor performance metrics and develop actionable growth strategies.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with facility and corporate leadership.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned region.
