Responsibilities:

1) Manage category by ensuring high quality, innovation, and supply market intelligence across spend area securing availability of goods and services

2) Developing and executing professional Category Strategies for the assigned spend categories within regional scope and/or local as well as executing constant market observation on price, supplier, market product development and innovation

3) Align strategy with global category manager for global spend categories, and ensures top-down and bottom-up alignment

4) Consolidates requirements and demands in category management from plants & markets as input for global category strategies

5) Executing professional tenders (RFx) including establishing and negotiating contracts according to the defined sourcing strategy for a specific spend category

6) Execution of Contract and Supplier relationship management including supplier development and innovation

7) Build working relationships with key stakeholders, other category teams, suppliers, and external partners

8) Lead strategic sourcing projects, which secure the goods, works and services that most appropriately identify the addressed needs of the customers and users whilst ensuring value for money, compliance with relevant policy and procurement legislation and generating cashable and non-cashable efficiencies throughout the life of contracts

9) Perform other duties as assigned by Manager in support of departmental goals

Education/Experience:

1) Bachelors' Degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Management preferred.

2) 10+ years' experience in a similar position (Category Manager) with expertise in one of the below categories:

i. Mechanical Trading Goods

ii. Turning & Milling, Plastic, etc. Parts

iii. Bearings, Springs, Fasteners, Switch & Buttons, etc.

iv. Packaging, Printing Materials, Production Materials, C-Parts, etc

3) Experience in Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain Management

4) Experience in contract and supplier relationship management

5) Experience in execution of professional tenders and category management

6) Leadership experience in complex organizations
