We're currently seeking experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists to join our Seasonal Respiratory Float Team and provide care across multiple BayCare hospitals during the high-volume respiratory season. The position supports regional staffing needs from November through March, offering the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of clinical environments while making an impact where patients need you most.

Full-Time Days | 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Float assignments throughout the Tampa Bay region

No On-Call Requirements

Seasonal Float Team Commitments

As a member of the Seasonal Respiratory Float Team, you'll serve as a staffing resource across five BayCare facilities and help ensure exceptional patient care throughout the winter respiratory season.

Participating therapists may choose from several commitment levels:

3 Shifts Per Week

• Minimum 6 weekend shifts during the season
• Work 1 major winter holiday and 1 holiday eve
• 1 hard-to-staff shift commitment

2 Shifts Per Week

• Minimum 6 weekend shifts during the season
• Work 1 major winter holiday and 1 holiday eve
• 1 hard-to-staff shift commitment

1 Shift Per Week

• Minimum 2 weekend shifts during the season
• Work 1 major winter holiday and 1 holiday eve
• 1 hard-to-staff shift commitment

The seasonal team will support multiple facilities throughout the region, including assignments that may include major BayCare hubs such as Morton Plant, Mease Countryside, Winter Haven Hospital, and St. Joseph's Main.

Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory care services to patients in hospital-based and freestanding emergency/trauma centers
• Administer respiratory therapies under physician orders and established clinical protocols
• Perform advanced respiratory assessments and evaluations
• Deliver emergency and adult critical care respiratory interventions
• Conduct diagnostic respiratory testing and monitoring
• Perform noninvasive and invasive respiratory procedures with minimal oversight
• Exercise sound clinical judgment during unsupervised patient interactions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest level of patient care
• Seasonal team member floats to 5 regional hospitals (Nov-Mar)

Qualifications

Required

• Florida Respiratory Therapist License
• Active NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential
• Acute Care Experience
• BLS Certification
• ACLS within 30 days of hire

Preferred

• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
• AARC and/or FSRC Membership
• RRT-ACCS Credential
• RRT-NPS Credential
