Transportation Refrigeration Technician

Location: East Tulsa, OK
Pay: $28+ per hour, BOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Refrigeration Technician - Must-Have Requirements

• Previous experience servicing and repairing commercial refrigeration or HVAC systems
• Experience with semi-trailer refrigeration units preferred
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to diagnose refrigeration system issues and complete repairs
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to safely reclaim and recharge refrigerant

Refrigeration Technician - Position Summary

Experienced Refrigeration Technician needed to service, diagnose, and repair refrigeration and A/C systems used on semi-trailers, trucks, and emergency vehicles. This position will work on Carrier and Thermo King refrigeration units, semi-truck APU systems, and dash A/C systems.

Refrigeration Technician - Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Service and maintain Carrier and Thermo King semi-trailer refrigeration units
• Service and repair semi-truck APU units
• Diagnose and repair dash A/C systems on emergency vehicles
• Replace belts, filters, batteries, starters, and alternators
• Repair and replace compressors, driers, shafts, condensers, and A/C lines
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues
• Download and update software as needed
• Replace micro boards and display monitors
• Reclaim and recharge refrigerant
• Perform reefer unit engine replacements
• Test repaired systems to ensure proper operation
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Document repairs and maintenance performed

Refrigeration Technician - Additional Qualifications

• Experience with Carrier and/or Thermo King refrigeration systems strongly preferred
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical components, and HVAC troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and service information
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Must be able to safely perform physical work in a shop environment
