Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Scientific Instrument Services (S.I.S.) department is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable professional with a strong background in refrigeration systems, including components, circuitry, and the operation of freezers and refrigerators. This role is vital to supporting the maintenance, repair, calibration, and installation of scientific and diagnostic instruments used in cutting-edge medical research. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically proficient, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively with research staff and other departments. Occasionally required to crouch, crawl, and lift or move up to 50 pounds
Potential exposure to:
Fumes or airborne particles

Radioisotopes, liquid nitrogen, and animal dander
Occasionally exposed to cold environments (4ºC and -20ºC) from freezers
Risk of electrical shock
Noise level is usually moderate
