Referral Representative

Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.000000 | Full Time | Primarily Mon - Fri / 8AM - 5PM

Starting Wage: $21.19-$29.15 per hour, depending on experience

Position Summary

The primary function of the Referral Representative is to expedite the administrative requirements for patient referrals, deal directly with health plans, and to ensure proper insurance payment for services. The position will also perform incidental tasks related to charge entry and statistical tracking.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as required for the position is required
• Associate's Degree- preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in health care, insurance, or a workers' compensation setting involving insurance authorization, referral processes, and coding is required
• Experience with computers such as PC and MS Windows. Experience in office technology is required

Certifications

• CEC: Claims Examiner Certification- preferred
