Position Overview:A Referral coordinator is a member of the patient care team who helps patients and providers with the referral process for specialty care and other referral needs. They ensure continuity of care by following protocols required by health plans. May also provide psychosocial support to individuals, families, and groups with chronic, acute, or terminal illness.  What you will do:Complete, verify, and submit all records, forms, and insurance pre-authorizations on time.Follow all healthcare laws, HIPAA guidelines, and patient privacy rules strictly.Answer patient questions, schedule appointments, and give them clear instructions.Use the eCW database and EMR system to update provider lists and log all referral data.Send medical data to outside clinics and transfer related phone calls to the right provider.Monitor referrals to ensure patients attend appointments and outside records are returned to ECFH.Contact patients who miss their appointments and document the reasons why.Handle other assigned duties, travel if required, and support ECFH policies. Minimum requirementsEducation: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: None Preferred RequirementsEducation: Associate or bachelor's degree in the health care field.Experience: Medical terminology and health insurance claims, Medicaid, and Medicare.Minimum of two (2) years' experience, with at least one (1) year experience in a related field.Bi-lingual- Fluent English/SpanishKnowledge of eClinicalWorks Benefits401 k Retirement7 Paid HolidaysMedical, Dental, Vision Insurance100% Employer Paid Basic Life InsuranceEmployee Voluntary Supplemental BenefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Who We Are: As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and 501(c)(3) nonprofit, El Centro Family Health is dedicated to providing affordable, accessible, and high-quality healthcare to the people of Northern New Mexico.
