Hiring & Retention Manager

Compensation: $54,000-$65,000 annually, inclusive of performance-based bonuses

The Salema Group is looking for an energetic, relationship-driven Hiring & Retention Manager to lead recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and retention efforts across our 28 Dunkin' restaurants.

This isn't just a recruiting position. You'll have the opportunity to impact the entire employee experience-from someone's first interaction with our company through onboarding, development, recognition, and career advancement.

What You'll Do

Recruit Great People

• Lead full-cycle recruiting for restaurant positions
• Develop creative strategies to attract candidates across multiple markets
• Manage job postings, applicant flow, screening, interviews, and hiring coordination
• Partner with District and Restaurant Managers to understand current and future staffing needs
• Build relationships with schools, colleges, workforce agencies, community organizations, and other recruiting partners
• Represent The Salema Group at career fairs and hiring events
• Help strengthen our employer brand through recruiting campaigns, social media, and community outreach

Create a Great First 90 Days

• Coordinate a consistent and welcoming onboarding experience
• Partner with Restaurant Managers and our Training Manager on start dates, orientation, and training
• Follow up with new employees throughout their first 90 days
• Continuously look for ways to improve early employee engagement and retention

Keep Great People

• Develop employee engagement and retention initiatives
• Conduct stay interviews and employee listening sessions
• Analyze turnover trends and identify opportunities to improve retention
• Develop recognition and appreciation programs
• Support programs such as our quarterly SPARK Awards
• Celebrate employee milestones, promotions, certifications, and achievements

Develop Our Future Leaders

• Help create career pathways and internal promotion opportunities
• Support leadership development and succession planning
• Help identify and develop future leaders throughout the organization

Use Data to Drive Improvement

• Track recruiting, staffing, onboarding, turnover, and retention metrics
• Evaluate recruiting sources and hiring effectiveness
• Identify trends and recommend improvements
• Help us continually improve our recruiting systems and overall employee experience

What We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

• Are highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities
• Communicate professionally and follow through
• Are comfortable interviewing and evaluating candidates
• Enjoy using data to identify trends and solve problems
• Are comfortable with technology, including Microsoft Office and applicant tracking or HR systems
• Have a valid driver's license and are comfortable regularly visiting restaurant locations throughout Seacoast New Hampshire and Southern Maine

Experience recruiting for hourly or multi-unit operations is preferred, but we're equally interested in finding someone with the right combination of energy, organization, relationship-building skills, and passion for developing people.

Schedule & Work Environment

This is a unique mix of office, remote, and field-based work. You'll spend time at our home office as well as visiting our restaurants and connecting directly with our teams.

Approximately 3-4 hours on Saturdays are required to accommodate student interviews. Saturday hours can be offset by working a shorter day during the week.
