At Amazon, we"re working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and motivated people. As a Recruiting Business Partner, you will partner with dedicated Sourcers to cultivate sourcing channels, develop relationships with hiring managers, and close searches against tight deadlines. In this role, you will be responsible for talent attraction strategies and utilize your experience setting benchmarks and metrics.

We need a talented Recruiting Business Partner to help us find the best talent in the world to support our growth. Amazon is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers. The Recruiting Business Partner will work with a team of peers including Sourcers and Recruiting Coordinators focusing in the areas of candidate talent search and placement, process improvement, strategy development and will act as the primary point of contact for supported groups. They will foster a collaborative team environment and a strong service-oriented culture that ensures delivery of efficient, effective, quality driven service to internal customers and meets customer service level agreements.

The ideal candidate must be able to successfully manage, prioritize and close searches against a timeline and have experience setting benchmarks, metrics, and understand how to prioritize to hit all customer SLAs. They thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment, can roll up their sleeves, work hard, have fun, and get the job done. The best candidates will draw on extensive knowledge of Talent Acquisition and functional areas of the business, forging dynamic relationships with business leaders, hiring managers and HR business partners. They have a reputation for being exceptional at candidate generation, client/account management, organization, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, have an ability to prioritize their time, demonstrate push back and a sense of urgency, and understand the value of providing amazing customer service.

This is onsite and can be Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA.

  • Drive positive candidate experience by influencing client teams to follow best practices, such as effective and compliant job descriptions, messaging, and clear value propositions, and provide excellent candidate experience

A day in the life

No two days are exactly the same as a Recruiting Business Partner at Amazon, but the rhythm of the role centers on a dynamic blend of strategic partnership, hands-on recruiting, and continuous improvement.

A significant part of your day is spent partnering closely with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to build effective sourcing, assessment, and closing strategies. You calibrate on candidate profiles, set clear expectations on timelines and deliverables, and use data - benchmarks, funnel metrics, and conversion rates - to advise on market conditions and shape search approaches. You"re the primary point of contact for your supported groups, and that means managing multiple stakeholder relationships simultaneously while ensuring customer SLAs are met.

Equally important is the candidate-facing side of the work. You collaborate with dedicated Sourcers to cultivate sourcing channels and engage passive talent, then conduct screens and interviews with a focus on profiling candidates for fit, chemistry, and motivation - not just selling a role. You prepare strong candidate slates, keep the process moving within consistent timelines, and when the right candidate emerges, you navigate complex offer negotiations in competitive markets to close the deal.

Beyond the day-to-day execution, you"re always looking for ways to raise the bar. That might mean contributing to diversity sourcing strategies, refining interview best practices, driving process improvements, or partnering with cross-functional teams to strengthen internal and external talent pipelines. You document plans with clear deliverables and tracking milestones, and you regularly review your metrics and pipeline health to flag risks and stay ahead of your goals.

Throughout it all, you foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture - delivering efficient, high-quality results to your internal customers while ensuring every candidate has an exceptional experience. Whether you"re closing a critical hire, brainstorming employer branding tactics, or identifying top performers for senior-level openings, you"re helping Amazon find the best talent in the world.

So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
