Temporary Recruiter — We’re Growing!
Location: Melville Headquarters (on-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Pay: $35–$40 per hour
Assignment length: [2-3 months, with possible extension]
Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is expanding, and we’re looking for a friendly, energetic Temporary Recruiter to help us bring great people onto our growing team. If you enjoy connecting with people, staying organized, and helping candidates find their next opportunity, we’d love to meet you.
You’ll partner with our HR team and store leaders to fill high-volume hourly and management roles across our existing stores and upcoming new locations. You’ll own the full hiring process, from first outreach to a new hire’s first day, and make sure every candidate has a welcoming experience along the way.
What You’ll Be Doing
Sourcing and attracting candidates
- Proactively source candidates through recruiting platforms, referrals, local schools, and community organizations.
- Build a pipeline of ready-to-hire candidates for hard-to-fill and recurring roles such as deli, bakery, prepared foods, and cashier positions.
Screening and selection
- Review applications daily and respond to qualified candidates within one to two business days.
- Conduct phone and virtual screens to assess experience, availability, pay expectations, and fit for the role.
- Present shortlisted candidates to store leaders and hiring managers with clear, concise notes.
- Schedule interviews, send confirmations and reminders, and gather feedback promptly after each interview.
Offers and onboarding
- Extend verbal and written offers in line with approved pay ranges.
- Coordinate background checks, new hire paperwork, and first-day details with HR and store teams to include offer letters and onboarding documents
- Follow up with new hires during their first weeks to answer questions and support retention.
Candidate experience and communication
- Keep candidates informed at every stage so no one is left waiting without an update.
- Represent Uncle Giuseppe’s warmly and professionally in every interaction, in person, by phone, by email, and virtually.
Records and reporting
- Keep candidate records accurate and up to date in UKG/Rapid Hire.
- Track open roles, time-to-fill, and hiring progress, and share regular status updates with the hiring team.
- Handle all candidate and employee information confidentially and in compliance with company policy and employment laws.
What You’ll Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Full-cycle recruiting experience, from sourcing through offer and onboarding, gained in a recruiting, staffing, or HR role.
- Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with candidates by phone, email, video, and in person.
- Excellent organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple openings at once.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HR information systems (HRIS), online job boards, and Microsoft Office, including basic Excel.
- Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
- Availability for the full temporary assignment.
Preferred
- Experience recruiting for retail, grocery, hospitality, or other high-volume hourly roles.
- Experience with UKG/Rapid Hire.
- Experience supporting hiring events or new location openings.
