Damar is looking for a talented and motivated Recreational Therapy Provider with a big heart to join our team. The Recreational Therapy Provider is responsible for providing direct recreational therapy services to clients. These services include assessment, treatment planning, individual sessions, group sessions, and documentation, among other things.

• Attends mandatory staff meetings and other meetings as assigned
• Provides comprehensive recreational therapy assessment and treatment plan for each client served
• Conducts regular home, community, or clinic-based individual and/or group recreational therapy sessions for clients on caseload
• Consults and collaborates with family and team members in support of client needs
• Plans programming for group sessions in collaboration with team members
• Interacts with clients to demonstrate respect, acknowledgement of rights, and dignity at all times
• Keeps abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations
• Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas
• Seeks the best use of materials, equipment, and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness

• Provides written documentation of recreational therapy services via daily notes and monthly reports
• Submits documentation (assessments, treatment plans, monthly notes, etc) per recreational therapy policy
• Maintains prescribed level of productivity
• Adheres to all policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook and Damar Operational Policies and Procedures Manual
• Completes and updates mandatory training and other certification-related items in a timely manner
• Maintains documentation that is accurate and legible
• Completes incident reports within 24 hours of knowledge, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client
• Completes daily utilization reports within 24 hours of service

Essential Job Functions:
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
