Recreational Leader

Assist Recreation Supervisors, Managers, Coordinators or their designee in providing and overseeing recreational activities at our Recreation Center, Sports Facilities, Fields or any other facility that community education and recreation functions are taking place for citizens of all ages.

Duties:

• Supervise a specific area of the Recreation Center, Sports Facility, or Field
• Plan, organize, and implement activities, special events
• Assist with the organization of seniors, adult or youth programming
• Assist community with registration and/or programming questions and registration.
• Supervise and counsel youth
• Act as Liaison between the public and Recreation Supervisor, Program Coordinator or designee
• Assist with supervision, planning, and organizing special events that include but not limited to youth/adult sports, youth/adult activities, special events and other programs assigned by Supervisor
• Assist in the day to day operations of facility programs or game day operations
• Tasked with opening and closing facilities, including bathrooms and setup/take down of studios/rooms.
• Must be flexible in working mornings, evenings, and weekends
• Set up for special programs, special events, and sporting events which include but not limited to: Tables, chairs, balls, bases, sport and fitness equipment, signage, score sheets, volleyball poles, nets, officials chairs, raise and lower basketball hoops and etc
• Supervise participants and spectators
• Protect equipment and facilities
• Call 911 for emergencies if needed. Assist patrons during emergencies, if necessary.
• Attend training opportunities offered by the department when applicable (example: CPR)
• Maintain equipment and report needed repairs
• Open, close and secure recreation center, sports facilities
• Inventory and stock equipment & supplies
• Report program, event attendance
• Maintain safety at recreation center, sports facilities, parks and report emergencies to proper authorities and write proper incident reports
• Direct spectators, participants, etc to assigned areas
• Develop a good working relationship with the community, nonprofit groups, members of the public, Franklin Public Schools District staff and etc
