    Job Description

    POSITION SCOPE

    The City of Eau Claire is accepting applications for volunteer youth baseball coaches, youth soccer coaches and youth flag football coaches. Must work well with children, and be a mature adult with some knowledge and experience with the sport volunteering for. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the online application. Please note that criminal background checks are conducted on all volunteer coaches.

    VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

    Position: Snowboard Instructor

    Hours/Week: 1 evening

    Days Required: Wednesday evenings

    Wage: Volunteer

    Description: Youth snowboard knowledge and skills. 2-4 years instructing youth snowboarding preferred.

    Position: Flag Football Coach

    Applications will be reviewed mid-July.

    Hours/Week: 2 (evenings)

    Days Required: Tuesday/Thursday evenings

    Wage: Volunteer

    Description: Youth football knowledge and skills. 2-4 years instructing or coaching youth football preferred.

    Position: Soccer Coach

    Applications will be reviewed beginning mid-April

    Hours/Week: 2 (evenings)

    Days Required: Tuesday/Thursday evenings

    Description: Youth soccer knowledge and skills. 2-4 years instructing or coaching youth soccer preferred.

    Position: Specialized Recreation Activity Assistant

    Applications will be reviewed beginning mid-March.

    Hours/Week: 2-6 hours/week

    Days Required: Monday-Thursday afternoons; Wednesday evenings

    Wage: Volunteer

    Description: Applicants must be available from June 1 through August 5. This position assists with the delivery of an afternoon specialized education program for school-aged youth ages 6-21 with disabilities, as well as an evening social club for adults. The youth program operates Monday through Thursday afternoons, and the adult evening program meets on Wednesdays. Candidates are preferred to have one to two years of experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities; leadership experience is beneficial. Responsibilities include leading structured activities such as art projects, field trips, fishing excursions, and similar events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong behavior management skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts and effectively calm participants as needed. First Aid, CPR, and AED certification are recommended.

    Hours/Week: 2-3 hrs

    Coaches Agreement: View Coaches Agreement I have read the Coaches Concussion and Head Injury Information and understand what a concussion is and how it may be caused. I also understand what the signs, symptoms, and behaviors are and agree to remove the athlete from practice/play if exhibited and/or a concussion is suspected. I understand that it is my responsibility to inform the parents/guardian if I suspect a concussion or if a suspected concussion is reported to me and that the athlete cannot return to practice or play before providing me with written clearance from an appropriate health care provider. I understand the possible consequences of the athlete returning to practice/play too soon.
