Position Summary
The Recreation Director is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing all guest recreation programs and activities to enhance the overall guest experience. This position oversees recreational facilities, activity staff, and special events while ensuring exceptional customer service, safety compliance, and operational excellence. The Recreation Director creates engaging experiences that align with the hotel's brand and contribute to guest satisfaction and retention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily recreational activities and special events for guests of all ages.
- Manage recreation facilities, including pools, fitness centers, sports courts, beaches, water sports, and other resort amenities as applicable.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise recreation staff to ensure high-quality guest service.
- Develop seasonal activity calendars and innovative programming that enhances the guest experience.
- Monitor and maintain safety standards, equipment, and facilities in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Coordinate with other hotel departments to support guest events, group activities, and special functions.
- Manage departmental budgets, inventory, and purchasing of recreational equipment and supplies.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Promote recreation programs and encourage guest participation through effective communication and marketing efforts.
- Track participation levels, guest satisfaction, and program performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 years of recreation, hospitality, resort, or guest services management experience.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of recreational programming, safety procedures, and risk management practices.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- CPR, First Aid, and other relevant certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move recreational equipment as needed.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work different hours during throughout the day.
