Job Summary:
The Recovery Specialist supports clients in a co-ed inpatient detox environment by providing structure, safety, and emotional support during critical stages of addiction recovery. This role involves direct client interaction, monitoring, and assisting with access to continued care through structured programming and case management support.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and structure of the program milieu by monitoring client activities
Observe and supervise clients and unit; conduct 30-minute well-being checks
Conduct telephone admission screenings and assist with admissions processes
Search client belongings on admission, discharge, or as directed
Complete checklists, shift documentation, and record keeping in accordance with policies
Support individual case management and group treatment services
Assist clients in accessing step-down levels of care
Maintain a supportive and structured environment for recovery
Required Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Ability to work in a structured inpatient or behavioral health environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to monitor, document, and support client activities
Must be eligible per facility requirements (including separation from affiliated facilities for 6 months)
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Experience working with substance use populations
Prior experience in detox, inpatient, or behavioral health settings
Familiarity with case management or group support environments
