The Peer Support Specialist / Recovery Coach provides non-clinical, recovery-oriented support to individuals receiving services in a Clinical Stabilization Service (CCS) program. Using personal lived experience of recovery from substance use challenges, the Peer Support Specialist engages clients, fosters hope, supports stabilization and assists with transition planning to the next level of care.
What you will be doing:
Establish rapport with individuals, family, co-workers, and collateral providers to gather information and develops a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s current situation.
Share one’s own experience of recovery to support individuals in their own recovery process.
Identify, assist, support, and communicate the needs of individuals served in the program, including mental status, social functioning, and safety issues.
Based on interview, individual’s preference, and clinical assessment, implements an Individual Action Plan for recovery and wellness using the individual’s preferred tools, such as WRAP, Stanley Brown Safety Plan, 12-step, etc.
Schedule is Thursday - Monday, 7:00am-3:30pm
What you bring:
High School Diploma or GED required
Certification as a Peer Specialist (CPS) or Certification as a Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) preferred and/or ability to get certified within one year of employment required.
Personal lived experience with behavioral health challenges required.
Knowledge of recovery concepts and skills, including confidentiality and boundaries.
Valid MA Divers License and registered, insured vehicle for all working hours preferred.
