Description

Payrate: $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
 
Summary:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, this role supports daily storeroom operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and dispensing inventoried materials; processing inventory transactions; and resolving invoice exceptions. The position involves creating and maintaining purchase orders to support plant maintenance activities, monitoring and adjusting storeroom inventory levels, and maintaining records for items sent out for repair. The role also includes maintaining the organization, cleanliness, and overall appearance of storeroom areas and responding to requests from maintenance and production personnel by providing timely access to the parts, supplies, and materials needed to support plant equipment and operations.
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage storeroom inventory, including reviewing slow-moving and obsolete parts.
  • Coordinate and maintain records associated with the repair and return program.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve inventory effectiveness.
  • Maintain storeroom stock levels to support maintenance and production needs.
  • Ensure receipts, inventory transactions, and system records are current and accurate.
  • Maintain inventory control systems and support inventory improvement initiatives.
  • Provide timely and professional service to maintenance and production personnel.
  • Notify the Maintenance Manager when established charge-out or return procedures are not followed.
  • Support storeroom KPI tracking and reporting.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized storeroom.
  • Receive maintenance, repair, and operating supplies using material management systems, including SAP and Excel-generated reports.
  • Receive materials accurately and match incoming items to the appropriate purchase orders or records.
  • Perform accurate cycle counts, post adjustments in a timely manner, and maintain accurate inventory records in SAP.
  • Maintain the integrity of material master and part information in SAP.
  • Issue maintenance items against SAP work orders.
  • Initiate the purchase order process for emergency MRO items when required.
  • Enter stock disbursements in SAP.
  • Coordinate the dispatch of items being sent out for repair or return.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials for equipment in SAP.
  • Ensure proper shipping procedures are followed when items are removed from the building.
  • Complete necessary follow-up for outstanding, open, and backordered purchase order items.
  • Identify maintenance items as stock or non-stock to support proper replenishment and reordering.
  • Restock bins following the receipt of parts and supplies.
  • Retrieve and process goods issue tickets from satellite storerooms.
  • Obtain Return Material Authorization numbers from suppliers as needed.
  • Communicate with suppliers as required.
  • Maintain plant-specific standard operating procedures and support company strategies for MRO management.
  • Assist with KPI tracking and reporting.
  • Operate a lift truck and walk-behind hand truck.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain clean, safe, and organized storeroom areas.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
 
Qualifications
  • Minimum education required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Education desired: Associate Degree.
  • Relevant experience: Two or more years of related experience.
 
Skills
  • Competency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Prior SAP experience.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices and inventory control systems.
  • Ability to accurately receive, issue, count, and track parts and materials.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $25.00 - $25.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
