Records Center Technician/Driver

    Description

    Primary Purpose:

    Perform all functions related to Records Center Operations which includes retrieval and delivery of records to customer sites, processing accurate paperwork, and processing new and returning inventories.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:

    • High School diploma or GED certificate
    • Texas Class C driver's license and clear driving record; must meet requirements of HCDE's insurance provider

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and others verbally and in writing
    • General knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft software applications
    • Knowledge of Harris county and surrounding counties
    • Ability to operate a pallet jack
    • Ability to operate a cargo van or 24 ft bob-tail truck

    Experience:

    • Three years records management experience

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive records.
    • Accurately process retrieval orders including pulling items, verifying items, and closing orders within 24 to 48 hours of the due date.
    • Process all destructions including pulling required media, verifying it for accuracy, investigating and resolving all exceptions and closing work orders within the allocated time.
    • Function as primary link between customers and HCDE.
    • Pick up and deliver scheduled and non-scheduled requests daily on the due date.
    • Train customers regarding proper storage and destruction techniques.
    • Complete daily routes and sign all paperwork before submitting it to billing.
    • Accurately process vault retrievals for daily, weekly, and monthly rotaions.
    • Replace new and returning materials to the shelf within 48 to 72 hours of receiving.
    • Keep the records center clean at all times.
    • Discard confidential papers containing customer's information properly and in accordance with destruction procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
