Record Center Specialist 1

Job Summary

Record Center Specialists are responsible for handling and managing storage boxes, bins, and totes. This role involves frequent physical activity, including kneeling, squatting, reaching, and bending forward throughout shifts. The position requires moving, arranging, lifting, and loading items that range in weight from 24 lbs to over 100 lbs, both manually and using hand carts.

Responsibilities

• Process orders and move boxes of files, books, binders, backup tapes, and other materials.
• Manually lift, carry, and arrange boxes while standing, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and twisting.
• Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks safely on uneven and concrete surfaces.
• Read labels and process incoming and outgoing orders using a proprietary computer system to track orders and determine the location of boxes.
• Operate handheld scanners.
• Climb and balance on ladders.
• Load and shrink-wrap pallets at ground level or on carts.
• Load boxes onto pallets and load pallets onto trucks manually and with material handling aids.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk, stand, kneel, squat, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
• Capability to work independently to grip, lift, push, pull, and carry boxes, including navigating inclines, stairs, and changes in walking surfaces/elevation.
• Proficiency in reading and writing English.
• Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 100 lbs without assistance for prolonged periods.
• Experience in loading, operating, and moving hand carts, pallet jacks, and other material handling aids.
• Protective footwear meeting ASTM F2413-11 standards with a slip-resistant rating of "Better or Best" is required.

Work Schedule

The normal work schedule is 5 days a week, 9 hours a day, including a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.

• This position has the potential to transition from temporary to permanent.
