Description

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team in the lumber industry.

Position Summary

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for unloading, receiving, inspecting, and accurately processing incoming building materials. This role helps ensure materials are received correctly, entered into the system, and properly organized for warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable using computers, and able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming trucks and deliveries using a forklift.
  • Receive and inspect incoming building materials and products.
  • Verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving paperwork.
  • Check shipments for damage, shortages, overages, or incorrect materials.
  • Accurately receive materials into the company's POS/ERP system.
  • Label, stage, and organize received materials in the appropriate areas.
  • Communicate receiving discrepancies or concerns to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate receiving paperwork and inventory records.
  • Help research and resolve inventory or receiving discrepancies as needed.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Experience in the building materials, lumber, millwork, construction supply, or related industry preferred.
  • Forklift experience necessary.
  • Experience using an ERP, POS, inventory, or warehouse management system preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle building materials as required.

Starting Pay Rate - $25/Hr.
