TMD Staffing is looking to hire a Receiving Clerk in North side of Houston, 77038 area! 

A Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the intake of goods into a warehouse, distribution center, or retail facility, ensuring that deliveries are accurate, complete, and properly stored.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect deliveries: Unload shipments from trucks or delivery vehicles, verify quantities, and inspect goods for damage or defects 

• Verify documentation: Compare purchase orders, invoices, and packing lists to ensure items match the order 

• Update inventory: Record received items in inventory management systems, maintaining accurate stock levels

• Maintain records: File and organize receiving documents such as packing slips, delivery receipts, and logs

• Communicate issues: Notify purchasing, management, or vendors about shortages, overages, or problems 

• Operate equipment: Use material handling tools like pallet jacks, hand trucks, and possibly forklifts 

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED

• Experience: Prior warehouse or receiving experience preferred; on-the-job training provided for new hires

• Skills:

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail abilities

  • Proficiency with inventory management or warehouse management software

  • Basic computer skills and data entry

  • Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items

  • Understanding of warehouse safety regulations

• Certifications: Forklift certification may be required or preferred
