Position Summary:
The Receiver is responsible for ensuring all inbound products are accurately received, inspected, documented, and processed in accordance with company standards, food safety requirements, and operational procedures. This role serves as the first point of inspection for products entering the warehouse and plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, product quality, and vendor compliance.
The Receiver works closely with Procurement, Operations, Inventory Control, Quality Control, and warehouse teams to verify deliveries, identify discrepancies, and ensure products are properly received into warehouse systems.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect inbound shipments against bills of lading, purchase orders, vendor documentation, and company receiving requirements.
- Unload deliveries using approved warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as required.
- Verify product quantities, catch weights, product attributes, lot codes, expiration dates, and packaging integrity.
- Inspect products for quality, condition, freshness, and specification compliance prior to acceptance.
- Apply LPN labels and process inventory documentation accurately and timely.
- Enter receiving transactions and product information into warehouse management systems (WMS) and other operational systems.
- Verify catch weights and product attributes within warehouse systems to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain receiving reports, discrepancy documentation, and supporting records.
- Identify and document receiving discrepancies, shortages, overages, damages, and quality concerns.
- Communicate receiving issues to Procurement, Operations, Inventory Control, Quality Control, and leadership teams as appropriate.
- Close purchase orders and complete receiving transactions in accordance with company procedures and system requirements.
- Support inventory accuracy by ensuring products are properly identified, labeled, and routed to designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within receiving areas and docks.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts, audits, and operational support activities as needed.
- Perform additional receiving and warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior receiving, warehouse, inventory control, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, handheld devices, or inventory management tools preferred.
- Basic computer and data entry skills required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to identify and communicate product, inventory, and receiving discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout warehouse operational areas for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products and materials within company-established guidelines, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to perform inventory counts, product inspections, and audits using handheld scanners and warehouse technology.
- Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, wet, or varying warehouse temperature environments.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as trained.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with workplace safety requirements.

Work Environment:
This position operates within warehouse, production, and distribution environments that may include refrigerated, freezer, wet, and fast-paced operational conditions. Associates may be exposed to moving equipment, varying temperatures, and moderate to loud noise levels.

Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive HR experience, including experience as an HR Business Partner or HR leader supporting corporate or professional functions.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple functional groups simultaneously (e.g., Sales, Finance, Operations, Technology).
- Demonstrated expertise in job reorganization, organizational design, and job leveling.
- Advanced employee relations experience, including investigations and high-risk matters.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence at the senior leadership level.
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred for workforce support.
- SHRM certification a plus.
