    We are currently seeking: Multiple Recreation Assistants to join our team. In this role, under general supervision, you will perform a variety of activities in support of City recreation programs, including customer service at centers, activity monitoring, and assisting with administrative activities.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Assisting the Recreation program staff; duties will vary according to job assignment.
    • Assisting in setting up and maintaining recreation facilities; checking that supplies, equipment and facilities are in order and recommending any necessary repairs and supply needs to the supervisor.
    • Answering public questions and telephone inquiries at centers and facilities; providing basic recreation program information to participants and the public.
    • Maintaining basic attendance and participant records as directed; may collect and account for fees.
    • Assists in the enforcement of rules, regulations and safety precautions of municipal facilities.
    • Recognizing, avoiding, and reporting unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries.
    • Assisting in cleaning and maintaining general appearance of assigned facility.
    • Assisting with administrative duties; maintaining inventory of supplies and materials.
    • If assigned, must be able to work 'lake/park gates' on weekends and holidays to include taking funds for entry per vehicle.
    • Regular and timely attendance is required.

    • Working with children and adults.

    Education and Experience:

    • Must be at least 16 years of age.

    Required Licenses or Certifications:

    • Reliable transportation is required or a valid driver license with a good driving record.

    Required Knowledge of:

    • City policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations.
    • Working knowledge of indoor and outdoor recreational games, activities, etc.

    Physical Demands / Work Environment:

    • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
    • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
    • Must have dependable transportation.
