Description

Nucor is hiring an in-person Rebar Detailer Trainee (CAD) in Phoenix, AZ to detail simple projects with supervision while producing accurate descriptions of rebar and concrete reinforcing products for fabrication and installation. The ideal candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, have at least six months of CAD software experience, and possess the ability to read technical drawings.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Create shop drawings and manage detailing-specific projects while developing foundational knowledge of rebar and concrete reinforcing products
  • Review and verify contract documents, drawings, specifications, and addenda, liaising between contractors, engineers, placers, and detailers
  • Pre-plan project schedules and critical paths, manage change orders, and assist with construction conflict resolution

Qualifications

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without present or future company sponsorship
  • At least 6 months of experience using CAD and Windows-based software, along with the ability to read technical drawings
  • Preferred qualifications include: vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting (or active enrollment), strong written and verbal communication, and concrete-related construction knowledge
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test, complete about 2 hours of assessments, and work extended hours or meet physical/in-person job demands as needed
