Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join our growing practice in Leland, North Carolina.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential and/or commercial real estate transactions and will oversee all aspects of the closing process, from contract review through post-closing matters. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong client service skills, and the ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to closing.
  • Review purchase and sale agreements and provide legal guidance regarding contract terms and compliance.
  • Examine title commitments, surveys, and related documents to identify and resolve title issues.
  • Draft and review deeds, settlement statements, affidavits, loan documents, easements, and other closing documents.
  • Conduct real estate closings and ensure transactions are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Advise buyers, sellers, lenders, developers, and real estate professionals on legal issues related to property transactions.
  • Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, title companies, surveyors, and other parties to facilitate timely closings.
  • Resolve title defects and other issues that may delay or impact closing.
  • Ensure compliance with North Carolina real estate laws, ethical standards, and lender requirements.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and exceptional service.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina, in good standing.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience handling real estate transactions and closings.
  • Demonstrated experience with contract review and legal analysis, drafting real estate and closing documents, title examination and title issue resolution, and conducting residential and/or commercial real estate closings
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and real estate closing software.
