    About the Role:

    As a CBRE Accounting Controller you will lead a team of accountants and oversee the financial reporting for assigned real estate portfolios. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with business objectives.

    This job is part of the General Accounting job function, responsible for the development and day-to-day maintenance of accounting processes and procedures.

    What You'll Do:

    • Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
    • Directly manage and stabilize high-stakes client relationships, driving operational alignment and consensus with exceptionally sophisticated stakeholders.
    • Review and approve complex financial packages before releasing to internal departments and external clients.
    • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity. Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department. Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within the job discipline.
    • Serve as a liaison between accounting personnel, management, external investors, and customers.
    • Build relationships with key stakeholders and leaders to ensure objectives are being met.
    • Approve annual department budgets and review various financial reports, department reports, and other accounting documents for accuracy and present findings to upper management.
    • Suggest consulting opportunities based on knowledge of the department's pricing platform. Create pricing estimates for new business opportunities and ensure monthly pricing allocations are correct and services are up to date.
    • Coordinate internal and external property and client transitions and external audits.
    • Verify client fees are correct according to the rules in the Management Agreement.
    • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
    • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities and establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross-train staff, and set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
    • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plan

    What You'll Need:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
    • Prior management experience, required.
    • Requires the resilience and strategic tact to drive alignment and navigate high-stakes partnerships with exceptionally demanding, complex stakeholders.
    • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
    • Ability to exchange and explain complex and difficult information convey performance expectations and handle sensitive issues.
    • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
    • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
