    Job Summary

    The Ready-Mix Loader Operator is responsible for operating equipment commonly found necessary for the proper maintenance of a ready-mix plant. Equipment operated will include loader, water truck, man lift, forklift, etc. Training will also cover back-up batch activities and plant maintenance. The daily responsibilities may not be site-specific.

    Benefits

    This is a Union position with Operating Engineers Local 3 with a contractual benefits package.

    Compensation

    $55.15 / hr.

    Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate safe and efficient operation of equipment while completing assigned tasks
    • Perform pre-operational/post-operational checks of equipment to ensure equipment can be operated safely
    • Operate a range of loaders including skip loader, front loader, man lift, and forklift
    • Perform work area examinations to ensure a safe work environment; any observed hazards must be noted, reported to the supervisor and corrected if possible
    • Comply with company policies, procedures and work rules, as well as federal safety, health, and environmental regulations
    • Perform plant maintenance activities as directed
    • Work may extend to include general labor duties such as shoveling and sweeping
    • Support other plant activities as directed
    • Some weekend and night work will be required

    Education

    High school diploma or GED

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Experience operating loaders, man lifts and forklifts
    • Experience operating equipment outside in all weather conditions
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Work with minimal supervision
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and climb stairs and ladders up to 24 feet high
    • Must have reliable transportation for all work shifts
    • Trustworthy and excellent attendance record

    Preferred:

    • Strong computer skills
    • Any maintenance-related certifications
    • Commercial driver's license

    Conditions of Employment

    Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
