JOB SUMMARY: This position will create an atmosphere that will nurture to fulfillment the potential of each student. This position will aid in ensuring high quality, appropriately designed literacy instruction for students in keeping with the district's mission. Provide students with appropriate in-person and distance or virtual instruction in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate including any additional certifications needed to serve the student population Valid Texas ESL certification Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of core academic subject assigned Knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning Strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to develop relationships and maintain consistent contact with student, parents, and colleagues Ability to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issues Experience: Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with other campus personnel to identify at-risk students and ensure targeted and intensive interventions are provided to students who need additional academic support. Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of interventions for students in need of support towards meeting course standards. Use data to identify students for Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention support. Delivers district-approved and research-based programs, strategies, and techniques to support students individually or in small groups. Assist teachers and instructional staff in addressing student learning using the MTSS framework; provide guidance on strategies, tools, and techniques to effectively teach all students. Develop, document, and maintain ongoing intervention plans in the district's MTSS intervention management system. Maintains progress monitoring data on how students are responding to intervention plans to make adjustments as needed. Attend required district and campus training. Maintain state and local requirements for MTSS. Review all paperwork before submission to ensure accuracy and completion. Adhere to ethical and legal standards and model behavior that is professional and responsible. Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment. Provide job-embedded professional development to teachers. Collaborate and provide professional development to staff on the MTSS process and support teachers on how to administer universal screeners. Student Growth and Development Provide timely feedback to students and track progress through a variety of methods. Conduct ongoing assessment and feedback related to student achievement through formal and informal methods. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal. Be a positive role model for students and support the goals of the campus and school district. Conduct assessment and screening for newly enrolling students. Provide support for district reading programs campus-wide. Provide campus and district professional development for literacy instruction. Classroom Management and Organization Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Prepare for students' lessons, and show written evidence of preparation upon requests of immediate supervisor. Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required. Communication Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with district personnel, students, and/or parents. Communicate with students or parents on a regular basis via phone or video conference, email, or district-approved website. Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members. Provide support to teachers for parent conferences. Participate in ARD, 504, and SAT meetings as appropriate Professional Growth and Development Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required. Provide for his/her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning. Seek to upgrade knowledge and/or strategies for professional growth. Other Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy. Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others. Keep abreast of innovative practices.
