Job Summary
This position is responsible for planning and delivering whole group reading and writing instruction to help students prepare for the HiSET reading and writing exams in order to earn their High School Equivalency Diploma. Works with students to determine their needs and integrates College and Career Readiness Standards, 21st Century Employability Skills, and CASAS GOALS competencies.
The Van G. Miller Adult Learning Center serves adult students who are earning their High School Equivalency Diploma, learning the English language, and/or receiving workforce training as Adult Education and Literacy students. We make a real-life impact as we empower students to get the education and skills they need to thrive at work, school, home, and the community.

Anticipated schedule is: Monday-Thursday daytime hours with Tuesday/Thursday being a longer workday which includes evening hours until 8:30 pm.
Requires skills for succeeding in an office environment, using technology. Requires good hand-eye coordination including visual acuity to use a keyboard and read technical information; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Work is performed in an office setting. Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during working hours. During the course of the day, interact with students, faculty and staff in person, by telephone and computer.
Employment Status
Full-time, exempt, grant funded position with comprehensive or competitive benefits program including health, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance, a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expenses; holiday, personal, sick, and vacation leave; tuition reimbursement / tuition remission; and a choice of retirement programs-IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA (defined contribution).
Wages will be commensurate with the candidate's education, experience and internal equity.
The wage range for this position begins at $19.33 per hour (approximately $40,200 annually).
