Theprimary responsibility isconductinglivestock checkouts forTribal members, managing livestock onTribal lands, responding to livestock conflicts,and protecting public safety by removingstray, nuisance,ordangeroushorsesand livestockfrom highwaysandcommunities. He/she will oversee the operation and maintenance ofTribal corrals,coordinate livestock handlingactivities,assistproducers withlivestock-relatedissues,andworkcloselywithTribal members.
Additional dutiesincludemaintainingfences,developinglivestockwatersystems, operatingandmaintainingtractorsandheavyequipment,assistingwith irrigation infrastructure. He/she will helpcoordinate grazingand agriculturaloperations and maintain facilitiesand equipment. Applicants should have extensive livestock handling experience, hands-onexperience constructingfences,waterdevelopmentsandotherranchinfrastructure,proficiencywithheavy equipment operation,andtheability towork independently inremote locationsand under varying weather. Thispositioncallsforaflexible workschedule,includingoccasional eveningsandweekends. We're looking for someone who wants togrow with the program,and there may bean opportunityfortheposition tobecomefull-time with benefitsinthefuture.Musthaveavalid Oregon Driver's license andbe insured. Drug testing with random drug tests periodically. Must also submit and pass a criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement.
