Job Title: Rail Coordinator III
Location: Houston, TX 77042 - 100% onsite
Duration: 6 months contract - could extend or become long term
Summary:
This role requires working on a collaborative team with strong communication skills, attention to detail and to interface with external rail vendors as well as internal stakeholders to identify and respond to rail trends, fleet metrics, and future operational requirements.
The scope of accountability for the Rail team includes all bulk liquids (Crude Oil and other renewable/non-hydrocarbon feedstocks, Refined Products, Specialty Products, NGLs/LPGs etc.)
Responsibilities:
Perform daily tracking and tracing of Client rail fleet equipment, maintaining and documenting data in rail tracking system (Transmetrics TMS) and railroad systems.
Ensuring shipment information is populated within Transmetrics TMS and cars are allocated appropriately.
Daily proactive communication with railroads to resolve all types of service issues including First Mile and Last Mile local service.
Generate bills of lading, diversions and or reships as needed.
Assist with managing EDI billing issues as they arise.
Assist Rail Operations to manage, investigate and resolve data discrepancies within Transmetrics TMS and adding comments to jeopardized in transit shipments.
Coordinate with Rail Coordinators in managing rail fleet at storage facilities.
Develop and manage rail reports for managing rail pipeline and regulatory testing and working with railroads on systemic resolution.
Assisting Rail Coordinator with Supply management of empty and loaded railcars to/from all client's locations.
Analysis and Query of rail movement data to build metrics, identify operational cost drivers, trends, and drive optimization improvements.

Manager is looking for someone who takes initiative, has a customer service mentality, and is problem solver.
Must have strong knowledge of rail systems and how the process works of getting freight from point A to port B and C.
If a rail car is delayed the Rail Coordinator needs to troubleshoot why. Troubleshooting consists of researching past status updates, calling the railroad, and researching the billing.
The Rail Coordinator is responsible for billing rail cars.
The Rail Coordinator maintains a status log on rail cars to track issues, delays, and what has been done to rectify the situation.
The manager has an Excel based system with data imported from SAP that the coordinator can use, but is open to other ideas.
Must be able to download and import data into Excel. Use and create pivot tables.
