Radiology Technologist / Medical Assistant
Summary
The Radiology Technologist / Medical Assistant performs dual responsibilities to support the delivery of high-quality imaging and clinical services. This position assists providers by performing diagnostic X-ray exams and clinical procedures, maintaining safety and compliance, and ensuring excellent patient care in alignment with Company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic X-ray exams and imaging procedures as ordered by providers.
Prepare and position patients to obtain optimal image quality while maintaining comfort and safety.
Operate radiology equipment in accordance with Company standards and radiation safety protocols.
Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of images in the EMR system.
Maintain accurate daily X-ray logs and ensure timely completion and documentation of diagnostic reports
Collaborate with providers and medical assistants to support patient flow and care coordination.
Room patients, obtain vital signs, verify patient information, and update EMR records.
Assist providers during exams and minor procedures, handling instruments and supplies as needed.
Administer medications or injections under provider direction and within certification scope.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing and process documentation.
Prepare exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for patients.
Monitor and record vaccine refrigerator temperatures and medication expiration dates per AHCA regulations.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Company safety and confidentiality standards.
Participate in continuing education and maintain all required certifications up to date.
Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and treatments.
Schedule diagnostic tests and referrals as needed.
Support patient education by providing instructions on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold Company's standards of compassion, integrity, and accountability.
Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
Current ARRT certification (R) and valid Florida State Radiologic Technologist license required.
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred.
Current CPR/BLS certification required.
Minimum of one (1) year of clinical and/or imaging experience preferred, ideally in an outpatient or primary care setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Skills:
Knowledge of radiologic techniques, anatomy, and patient positioning.
Ability to operate and maintain radiographic equipment safely and efficiently.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and data entry.
Understanding of infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and radiation safety regulations.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, providers, and coworkers.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Customer service-oriented mindset with a commitment to patient care excellence.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
