    Description

    Summary
    The Radiologist Technologist is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the Diagnostic Radiology department and throughout the organization.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Produce a variety of high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique
    • Administer contrast media using proper technique and according to department policy
    • Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions
    • Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and/or credits
    • Review patient's chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions
    • Follow department, NRG, and State policies and regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure
    • "ALARA"
    • Educate the patient, and family when necessary, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome
    • Performing visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
    • Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate supervisor
    • Performing procedures as the schedule requires and rotate call
    • Performing other duties as assigned

    Education and Experience
    • Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
    • Preferred Education: N/A
    • Experience: Previous experience as a registered technologist is preferred, but will accept a new graduate
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    Applicants must be ARRT registered or registry eligible; applicants who are registry eligible must be registered within three months of employment. Must be BLS certified.
