Core Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging examinations including X-ray, fluoroscopy, and related radiographic procedures in accordance with department protocols and physician orders
• Properly position patients to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout every procedure
• Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, performing routine quality checks and reporting technical malfunctions promptly to supervisory staff
• Review physician orders and patient medical histories to select appropriate imaging techniques and exposure settings for each unique case
• Document imaging procedures accurately in the electronic medical records system, ensuring timely and complete record-keeping
• Collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other clinical team members to deliver seamless and coordinated patient care
• Follow all radiation safety protocols, including proper use of protective shielding and adherence to ALARA principles at all times
• Assist with patient education, explaining imaging procedures clearly and addressing any questions or concerns to reduce anxiety and promote cooperation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked imaging room in compliance with infection control and safety standards

Must-Have Requirements

• Active ARRT certification in Radiography is required
• Valid Rhode Island state radiography license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date
• Minimum of one year of clinical radiography experience in a hospital or outpatient imaging setting
• Demonstrated proficiency in positioning techniques and radiographic exposure factors across a broad range of procedures
• Strong knowledge of radiation protection standards and regulatory compliance requirements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine commitment to patient-centered care
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
• Basic Life Support certification required; must be maintained throughout employment
• Proficiency with digital radiography systems and electronic health record platforms is strongly preferred
