    Description:

    Oversees all support staff with the department of Radiology. Responsible for the interviewing, evaluating, rewarding, and counseling of assigned staff, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible for greeting and assisting patients in a timely, courteous and professional manner. Independently makes decisions of high complexity. Handles telephone requests from patients, hospital staff and physicians as related to Radiology services. Performs clerical duties essential to the functioning of the Radiology department in the hospital and at the Ambulatory Care Center. Insures that accurate patient information is obtained including patient signatures on any appropriate insurance form, waiver and or screening questionnaire. Responsible for Order Entry of patient exams, screening for Medical Necessity for Medicare limited coverage exams and performs daily audits. Manages payroll hours and rotates call with other department supervisors.

    Required Education:

    High School Graduate

     

     

    Preferred:

    Some college preferred

    Required Technical Skills:

    1.  Greet and assist radiology patients in a timely, efficient and courteous manner

    2.  Excellent telephone skills

    3.  Performs clerical duties essential to Radiology department

    4.  Insures accurate signatures, patient information and questionnaires are filled out properly

    5.  Order Entry and Medical Necessity

    6.  Daily Audits

            7.  Typing and general computer knowledge

     

     

    Preferred:

    Knowledge of Medical Terminology

     Experience with Meditech and Microsoft Office

    Required Experience:

    One year of healthcare supervisory experience

     

     

    Preferred:

    Greater than two years of healthcare supervisory experience
