Description: In this position, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs Nuclear Medicine procedures to obtain desired imaging results according to physician specifications. This includes transferring patients for examinations and assisting with the Nuclear Medicine examination process. Responsible for the appropriate operation of all Nuclear Medicine Imaging and related equipment. Appropriately educates, positions, immobilizes, and performs Nuclear Medicine procedures. Coordinates Nuclear Medicine examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care. Understands and follows provider imaging orders correctly. Submits required images and related clinical information to the Radiologist for interpretation. Appropriately evaluates image quality. Maintains open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership. Utilizes, charges, and maintains department supplies appropriately. Practices sterile technique and follows infection prevention policies. Handles multiple tasks and meets deadlines effectively. Safely performs Nuclear Medicine procedures, including patient transfer. Prepares and administers radioisotopes according to Radiologist protocol. Follows radiation safety measures to ensure patient and staff safety. Maintains adequate records of radioisotope receipts, use, storage, and disposal in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
