Radiology & Bone Densitometry Technologist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $65/hr - $68/hr Competitive and commensurate with experience
Position Overview: The Radiology & Bone Densitometry Technologist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging, including general radiography and DXA scans, to support patient care focused on performance, injury prevention, and long-term bone health. This role combines technical expertise, patient education, and close collaboration with medical providers to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities of the Radiology & Bone Densitometry Technologist:- Perform general radiographic imaging as ordered by licensed providers.
- Conduct DXA scans for bone density and body composition analysis.
- Review imaging requisitions to ensure appropriate exams based on clinical needs.
- Explain imaging procedures, safety protocols, and radiation risks to patients.
- Apply ALARA principles to ensure radiation safety.
- Position patients accurately while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with Physicians and Clinical team members to support coordinated care.
- Maintain and calibrate radiology and DXA equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, clinical, and quality standards.
- Support scheduling, documentation, coding, and imaging workflows.
- Maintain continuing education and required certifications.
Required Experience/Skills for the Radiology & Bone Densitometry Technologist:- Minimum 2 years of clinical imaging experience.
- Active Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license.
- ARRT certification.
- Proficiency with radiology equipment, DXA systems, and electronic health records.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to patient safety, comfort, and education.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Radiology & Bone Densitometry Technologist:- Certification from the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD).
- BLS certification.
Education Requirements:- Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology is required.
